When Conan and his friends come to the department store, Genta is kidnapped by a pair of men, who escape in their van. Conan, Mitsuhiko, and Ayumi find traffic cops Yumi and Naeko, who ask them to pursue Genta's kidnappers in their mini-patrol car. Conan eavesdrops on the kidnappers' conversation using Genta's Detective Boys badge. He was kidnapped because he overhead them discussing criminal activity. Mitsuhiko reasons that the kidnappers must be jewel thieves. Together they continue to chase after the van, but they lose sight of them...
